Join us for the Bakwa Literary Festival, an exciting virtual (Instagram Live) event celebrating books and authors from Cameroon online. The festival, which will take place from May 15-19 seeks to bring people together in these sad, troubling times and provide a much-needed live forum where writers and critics can engage with audiences.
Conversations will range from the role of the writer in times of conflict to discussions on recent and forthcoming books as well as book recommendations, and literary translation among other things.
Guests include Hemley Boum, Max Lobe, Dibussi Tande, Florian Ngimbis, Mutt-Lon, Babila Mutia, Clementine Ewokolo Burnley, Ejob Nathanael Ejob, Agogho Franklin and Djhamidi Bond.
The Bakwa Literary Festival also serves as a prelude to Bakwa at 10, a series of events and campaigns which will take place in different cities in 2021, marking Bakwa’s 10th anniversary.
Bakwa is a non-profit Cameroonian publisher of literary fiction, creative nonfiction and translation, and has published some of the most exciting established and emerging writers. Projects by Bakwa include Bakwa Magazine, Bakwa Books and BakwaCast.
