Summary
Bakwa is currently accepting applications from volunteers based in Yaounde interested in taking up employ as Operations Assistant. The operations assistant reports directly to the executive team and is expected to alleviate the executive team’s workload where possible. Specific responsibilities of the operations assistant may include, but are not limited to:

providing administrative support: process expenses, run errands, organise and process information, track invitations, order supplies and books, send and receive packages, files, faxes, photocopies, and scans, etc.;

handling and overseeing catering, as well as administrative and logistical arrangements for Bakwa events;

keeping the organisation’s agenda (appointments, meetings, lunches, dinners, events, etc.) and following up with reminders;

keeping track of daily, weekly, and long-term priorities and amending the schedule to suit those priorities;

providing support on various projects relating to sales, marketing, analytics or organisation;

handling grant applications and reports;
-
facilitating liaison between the organisation and partners;
-
travelling for on-site projects and meetings (with prior notice), and representing the organisation when necessary.
It is reasonable to assume that some variation in tasks may be requested, as and when needed. However, this position is part-time and the operations assistant is expected to work only 3 full days a week. As a volunteer position, this position does not carry a salary, but the incumbent shall be entitled to a fixed monthly allowance of XAF 40,000. Should any tasks require extra expenditure, additional funds will be disbursed to cover that.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is someone who can prove themselves to be dynamic, able to take initiative. Someone who understands the work Bakwa does and can champion the cause effectively. Someone who is able to interact with ease and build an efficient working relationship with the executive team, Bakwa partners, customers, and followers.
To this end, candidates are to demonstrate:

Excellent communication skills (good written and verbal English is mandatory, French is a plus);

Self-discipline, organisational, and planning skills;

IT skills(versed in MS Office software particularly Word, PowerPoint);
